2013 Colin O’Donoghue Legacy Invitational

What a Success!!!

104 golfers gathered for a 1:00pm shotgun start, on a beautiful day, at Sweetbriar Golf Club on September 28th to help in the fight against adolescent and young adult cancer. The combination of perfect temperature and sunshine made for an extraordinary day of golf, games and fun. The day was made possible with tremendous support from our many sponsors, committee chairs, volunteers, and golfers.

Total funds raised for the 2013 Colin O’Donoghue Legacy Invitational exceeded $7,000!  We thank each and every person and organization that helped make this event another success for RAI, with special thanks to our sponsors:

10th Anniversary RAI Super Bowl Benefit!

The 2013 RAI Super Bowl Benefit was particularly special for Rise Above It (RAI) as is marked the 10 year anniversary of our foundation raising funds to HELP FIGHT CANCER!  What initially began as a party amongst close friends, designed to support our close friend and continued inspiration - Colin O'Donoghue - has grown into a well-established organization that supports a movement in the world of Adolescent & Young Adult Oncology (AYAO). The fight against adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer has gained tremendous momentum, much in part due to the support of RAI and its committed supporters.

The all-day celebration kicked off with a great showing of supporters at the Blind Pig in downtown Cleveland and lasted through the game (including the blackout!)  Bay Village native, Bobby St. Vincent, started off the festivities, singing a live set of acoustic music while friends gathered at the bar and took part in the tailgating festivities.  The crowd was in the giving spirit and helped RAI to have its most successful Super Bowl Benefit to date, raising over $13,000 to help in the fight against cancer! This year was marked by a tremendous outpouring of support from sponsors, including: Blockshopper Cleveland, TRG, the Rogers Group, mylifeline.org, Cooke & Co, LPA, Rock River Group, Midland Met Services Inc, as well as former Cleveland Brown punter and Bay Village native, Dave Zastudil, the Wallace family, Scott & Danielle Raybuck, the Pirtle family, Ben & Olivia Tomon, Joseph Nilsestuen, Virtual DJ and Dan Posner.

The funds raised during the 2013 RAI Super Bowl Benefit will be used primarily to support the Angie Fowler Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Cancer Institute at University Hospitals and Rainbow Babies Childrens Hospital’s. We thank each and every person and organization that helped make this event another success for RAI, with special thanks again to our sponsors:

2012 RAI Golf Outing

2012 was another great year for the RAI Golf Outing!

The weather was on our side and the Sweetbriar Legacy course was in perfect condition as twenty-four foursomes took to the greens raising $8,000 to help in the fight against cancer.  The day was made possible with the help of many sponsors, volunteers, and of course golfers, all dedicating their time and money towards the cause.  Team “Greg is Handsome” came away the big winners from the day with a cash prize of $500, however generously donated their winnings back to Rise Above It to further aid those impacted by cancer.

The funds raised in the 2012 RAI Golf Outing will be used primarily to support the Angie Fowler Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Cancer Institute at University Hospitals and Rainbow Babies Childrens Hospital’s.  We thank each and every person and organization that helped make this event another success for RAI, with special thanks to our sponsors:
